The thing I really like about the presentation is how you can have an actual Pokémon follow you around now. There is far more color, more detail and in all, it is just much more visually appealing. The game looks notably better than the original. As you would expect, Pokémon - SoulSilver Version has been given a visual overhaul.
A Little Bit Of Visual FlairĪs this is a Nintendo DS game that is, in fact, a remake of a Game Boy Color one. Not only that, but Team Rocket is really up to no good in this game! It just feels like the stakes are a bit higher here and that is something I really like. One thing that I really liked about this story is the way you have a bit of a jerk as a rival. While other games have sought to build up the same ferver that catching Pokémon has, no other genre quite meets the same degree of excitement as catching wild Pokémon and adding them to your collection. Pokémon has a special place in the hearts of many different gamers. The games also make use of Pokémon Sprites, which trail behind you in the game. The games are set in an adventure called the Pokecathlon, which offers basic games that aren’t too innovative, but do tie into the calendar and timezone of the world. There are also mini-games which allow for the use of a stylus, indicating they aren’t a rework of old games. The Pokewalker isn’t the only new and unique feature. There’s even a cute little journal documenting your walk and what happened in the adventure with your pet. When you get back the information from the pokewalker is beamed back into your gaming device, and you’ll get to see what you got from it. The Pokewalker is shaped like a Pokémon ball with a digital screen that lets you see your tomagatchi like pet. The pokewalker has a pedometer in it, which tracks the progress of your walk.īy taking your pet out with you, even when you’re doing other things and not playing the game, you can earn things like levels (only one level per walk), items and watts. Thanks to a new device a bit like a Tomagatchi of old, you can take your Pokémon for a “walk.” The Pokewalker is a digital device you can take with you, and beam information about a specific Pokémon onto it. New addition to an old favorite: The PokewalkerĪt it’s core, Pokémon Soulsilver is basically the same game as all past games, so why buy into it if you’ve already played the series? The answer is a new addition a little bit like Pokemon Go, but designed specifically for Pokémon Soulsilver. In this world though all the wild critters are Pokémon though, so if you see movement in the bushes you’re up for a potential battle. “Gotta catch ‘em all” is the slogan after all. You’re still pursuing the dream of becoming the greatest Pokémon trainer in all the land, and you still need to catch wild Pokémon to fill out your collection. The game follows the same basic format of all past Pokémon games. If you thought there was nothing more to see or do in the Pokemon world and were going to sit this one out, you may want to take a second look at this latest version of an old favorite.
